Father’s Day is right around the corner, but there’s still time to buy your Dad a great gift. Dads are notoriously hard to shop for so I’ve talked to my friends, scoured the internet and collected some totally fun ideas for gifts you can give the Dad in your life.

West & Willow

My friend Ariana told me about West & Willow. What a brilliant, unique idea! For the guy who has everything, this customized portrait of his furry friend is sure to brighten his day!

JJ Suspenders

These suspenders are to die for! Just imagine how posh your guy would look stepping out with a set of real, gentlemen’s suspenders. Yes, please! JJ Suspenders are excellent quality, handmade to provide the perfect look and fit. The attention to detail and craftsmanship is the perfect way to spoil him with a little luxury.

You know how you love a little luxury detail in your life, like a high-end candle, jewelry, or extra special accessory? Men love that little touch of luxe too, but they’re hard to find in items that appeal to guys. JJ Suspenders are just that thing. Available in leather, classic, skinny, and formal, you’re sure to find a set that suits his style.

For the Spirited Dad

Winemaking Kit

Deluxe Cocktail Mixologist Kit

Admit it. Even the simplest beverage feels more special when it’s crafted in top-notch bar ware. The pleasure of having someone mix the perfect drink for you–or mixing the perfect drink for someone else–is all about the experience. It’s the main reason mocktails are on the rising trend radar. The joy of a cocktail isn’t in getting drunk. It’s all about the craftsmanship. Spoil your barback craftsman with a classic mixologist set.

The Go-To Cocktail Reference and Inspiration

Cocktail Codex is a must-have for any aspiring mixologist. One of Liquor’s top cocktail books, this isn’t just a booze-soaked excuse to imbibe. Cocktail Codex explains the basic understanding behind the most popular cocktails, including the old-fashioned, martini, daiquiri, sidecar, whiskey highball, and flip. These classics become a template and the jumping off point for your own creativity. It is useful for bartenders (and cocktail enthusiasts) of all levels, whether you’re just starting out or have been behind the bar for years.

For the Chill Guy

Premium Cooler

Listen, if your guy doesn’t already have a Yeti, I owe it to you to tell you. He wants one. This thing is cool–more ways than one! We went on a road trip and packed my brother’s Yeti full of freezer meals to eat at our condo (thanks MyFreezEasy!). We drove 8 hours, stayed overnight at a hotel, and drove on another 5 hours the next day before arriving to our condo with, not just cold, but FROZEN dinners after over 24hrs in the hot Texas sun!

My mind was blown. And yes, the Yeti kept all our beverages and snacks totally cool by the beach too, but c’mon, that road trip tho’!

I’ve linked to the Cabela’s site for the Yeti Tundra 35 Cooler. This is the one we took to the beach. Word of warning, this thing is HEAVY. It takes 2 people to carry it when full of food and drinks. You can opt for the larger one with wheels, or consider getting a cart to haul it (see below.)

If you buy it at Cabela’s website, you can use Rakuten to save 3% or Swagbucks to save 4%. Use my link to sign up for an additional bonus! While the Swagbucks deal is a greater percentage, SW offers the best reward when you cash out points for gift cards, whereas Rakuten will mail you a Big Fat Check–an actual rebate. Pick your preference.

Premium Beach Cart

If Dad’s going to be fishing or chilling on the beach, he will LOVE this premium beach cart.

If that one’s a little too high end for your dad, check out a smaller one like this.

Poolside Speakers

An afternoon in the pool is seriously upgraded with some good tunes! This speaker is waterproof with up to 12 hours of battery life AND it’s Alexa enabled. The More Fun Family loves playing our favorite stations by the pool and having the voice-controlled feature of Alexa means we can switch the station or change the volume settings without having to get out of the pool and dry off!

The Tradition, Elevated

Yes, socks. I’m not talking about just replenishing his stash of everyday socks. I’m talking about upgrading his collection, spoiling him with some high-quality footwear.

Think about how it feels to get high-quality undergarments. We all know that splurging on some luxury lingerie, even premium cotton panties, can make you feel like a million bucks.

Guys should get to feel that special treatment too! A few years back, my husband upgraded from whatever dress socks he wore to work to Ralph Lauren Polo combed cotton socks. He must have said a hundred times how much happier he felt wearing them.

Whether your guy needs some premium dress socks or would feel more spoiled with high-quality workout socks, do splurge on those details!

On the subject of good old fashioned Dad gifts, ties are not a bad idea. It may give him a little chuckle, but still, if your man wears a tie to work everyday, a fresh look would make him feel like a new piece of jewelry!

Check out these super cool fashions from Lazy Jack Press. This one’s called The Mullet “business in the front, party in the back” and features a respectable pattern on the front and a series of red party cups on the back.

For the Sentimental Dad

This keepsake book is precious! A beautiful gift in its own right, it’s filled with questions for grandfathers to answer for their grandchildren. Tell your dad it’s a built-in Christmas present if he’ll fill it out and wrap it up for your kids later this year!

Learning from previous generations in their first-person experience is one of the best ways for children to grasp the idea of history and tradition, and also their own growth. A growth mindset helps children see that just because they can’t do something now doesn’t mean they can’t do it later. Learning how their grandparents were once children, then young adults, will serve as a concrete example for your kids!

Aura Frames

Last Christmas, we got my husband’s grandmother an analog Aura Frames subscription. The analog Aura frame is a real frame. Through the app, we select 5 photos per month and they print them and mail them to Grandmother! It was probably one of the best gifts I’ve ever found.

I’m heartbroken that this company isn’t still offering the analog version, but I’ve found a few alternatives. For starters, one of Aura’s digital frames. If you’re shopping for a gift for your father, he’s probably not as much of a technophobe as our 95 yr old Grandmother. The Digital Aura frame is a great idea. Through the app, you can select as many photos as you want to immediately send to him. It’s like texting him the pics for his phone, but better!

Or, if you love the idea of a physical product, TouchNote allows you to design a photo card or postcard and have it sent to your dad. Getting a physical card in the mail results in a powerful neuro-chemical boost. No wonder we call it happy mail!

Celebrate his presence!

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, more than 1 in 4, live without a father in the home. Consequently, there is a “father factor” in nearly all of the societal ills facing America today. Research shows when a child is raised in a father-absent home, he or she is more likely to be involved in crime, risky sexual behavior, and substance abuse. Children of fatherless homes are at a greater risk of obesity, infant mortality, abuse, neglect, poverty and behavioral problems. There is a fathering crisis in America. *

If you have a dad in your life, let him know how precious and appreciated he is. A father’s role is often minimized or overlooked. Listen, I know moms, and women in general carry an enormous load! But if you’re lucky enough to have a dad in your life, please recognize what an enormous privilege that is and let him know you appreciate him.

*Visit The National Fatherhood Initiative at Fatherhood.org for more information on fatherless homes and resources for how to support families in your area.
