Here in Texas, fall comes in suddenly. Usually it starts one day in October when the seasons change from summer to winter overnight. After a few days, it seems to settle in to the new season, kind of like when you get a new haircut and it’s in shock for the first few washes.
Without fail, that sudden drop in the mercury has me reaching into the pantry in hopes of finding some long-forgotten can of pumpkin.
What is it about pumpkin that just screams fall?
Mix it together with some cinnamon and ginger, and you’ve got every basic girl’s favorite fall flavor combo.
When the craving strikes, ain’t nobody got time for a legit pumpkin pie.
